Christian Dior was born in the town of Granville on the coast of Normandy in 1905. In his young years, Dior took over an art gallery and sold work by Pablo Picasso. After the Great Depression and family hardships, Christian had to close the art gallery. He worked with fashion designer Robert Piguet along with Lucien Long. On December 16, 1946 Christian Dior was found in Paris supported by Marcel Boussac. Today, there are Dior stores worldwide with continuous expansion of the luxury brand.
